Our intentions for the Shelburne are threefold; to preserve our legacy of hospitality, to strengthen our community on the peninsula, and to make choices which protect our environment. These values underscore everything we do, and help us to bring you the best experience possible during your time with us. History & Legacy

The Shelburne was built in 1896, and is the longest continually operating hotel in Washington State. As a beautiful example of late Victorian architecture, the building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. With mindful renovations that preserve the unique character of the building, we are committed to making sure the Shelburne will be enjoyed for many years to come.

Community & Locality

As a historic part of the Long Beach Peninsula, we wanted to create community spaces that would delight visitors and locals alike. The Pub and the Inglenook provide a cosy place for community gatherings, and we work with local artisans, growers, farmers, foragers and artists to give you a true taste of the peninsula. From the menus that were made by a local leather worker, to the beers on tap made by our friends North Jetty Brewing just across the road.

Environment & Sustainability

We have recycling bins in all our rooms, we use local and handmade products in place of mass-produced goods, and all of our cleaning materials are biodegradable and non-toxic. We choose organic and local produce wherever possible, and we provide single-use plastics only when requested.
